Delicatus island

Delicatus island

Kitchen islands are a useful and social part of your kitchen. Instead of being stuck with your back to the room, you have space to prepare and cook your good, while talking to your loved ones or enjoying the rest of your wonderfully decorated kitchen.
But islands can be so much more than just another worksurface, they can be stunning pieces of architecture and design.

Add another level to your island to add height and clean lines to your design. Add a table or breakfast bar area to make your kitchen the social hub of your house, or add a sink to make your food preparation easier.
Islands are wonderful areas to really show off the beauty of your granite. The large expanse of surface means that the pattern and colour of your granite will shine. Impress your guests with the uniqueness of the granite you have chosen, ask us where your granite comes from and how old it is, so you can weave a tale to entertain.

Come to our workshop in Wheldrake, York and see the wonderful granites you can choose from to make your statement.

Selby Game Fair 2010

Selby Game Fair 2010

Over the Easter weekend, J W Smith’s Directors and trusty Project Manager relocated themselves and various pieces of granite, from the nice warm, dry showroom in Wheldrake, York, to a cold, wet and muddy field in the grounds of Carlton Tower for the Selby Game Fair 2010.

Despite the cold and wet weather, people flocked to the show in their thousands and nearly all were intrigued and fascinated by our wide selection of granite and marble on display.

The Directors had a great time, talking to potential customers, trying out their sales techniques and testing their granite knowledge

As well as showing off the different types of granite, quartz and recycled glass available for kitchen and bathroom worktops, our stall had a huge range of house signs, pet memorials and granite table tops to entice sales.

Many many leaflets were handed out, contact details taken and granites discussed over the 4 days, and a few customers have already made it over to our showroom in Wheldrake to continue their discussion.
If we met you at Selby, thank you for visiting our site and we enjoyed discussing your project with you.  If you didn’t make it to see us at the Selby Fair, don’t worry, we will be showing off our granite, marble, recycled glass and man-made products at the Yorkshire Game Fair in Harewood House on the 30th and 31st May 2010, and we will be very happy to see you there!
